2005 Dodge Durango Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose for Pressure Hose on 2005 Dodge Durango?
A: Step one is to siphon the power steering system and next raise the car by supporting it properly. Detach the return hose at the gear to reach the pressure hose, then disconnect the pressure hose. Take out the pressure pipe from the retainer at the crossmember and, when you have a 5.71L engine, release the electrical connector from the power steering pressure switch as well. Second, remove the pressure hose from the pump and pull the other end out of the vehicle. To install the pressure hose, put it back into the vehicle and secure it onto the pump by hand, making sure it's tightened to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). Switch on the gear, queue it up for a bite and release the pressure. Reconnect the return hose to the gear, tightening it to 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.) and reconnect the pressure hose at the gear, putting 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.) of force. Link the pressure hose to the crossmember retainer and turn on the power steering pressure switch electrical connector, only for the 5.71L engine. Finally, remove the support, lower the vehicle and then fill up the power steering system.
