How to Service and Repair a Trunk Lid Latch on 2005 Dodge Durango?

Trunk/liftgate latch service should start with taking out the liftgate trim panels. After that, remove the rod from the exterior handle and also remove the connectors. Remove all the screws and remove the latch from the door. Slide the latch into the liftgate and make sure it's firmly placed, then secure it with the screws set to 11 N.m (95 in.lbs). Once everything is connected, bind the rod of the latch actuator to both the exterior door handle and the latch. Last, reinstall the trim panels onto the car.
