2005 Dodge Magnum A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair an A/C Hose on 2005 Dodge Magnum?
A: First, extract the refrigerant gas from the A/C system and detach the system's negative battery cable before going on. The air cleaner housing must be uninstalled, before you raise, support and take off the splash shields from the front end. Loosen the nut joining the front end of the A/C liquid line to the A/C condenser, separate the line and throw away the dual plane seal. After the liquid line is cut, tape or plug that end and the end of the condenser. Now you can lower the vehicle. Then, unfasten the nut which holds the A/C liquid line front to rear, release the line and throw away the dual plane seal once more, filling or taping up the open fittings. Fit the front section of the liquid line into the engine compartment, remove the plugs or tape from the fittings, rub the new dual plane seal with clean R-134a oil and set it onto the fitting, checking that you use the proper seal and oil called for in the manual. Link the front part of the liquid line to the back, then add the securing nut and tighten it to 22 N.m (16 ft.lbs.). Lift the vehicle, plug off the front part of the A/C liquid line and the outlet port on the A/C condenser, grease another new dual plane seal, insert it into the A/C liquid line fitting and then connect the liquid line to the condenser. Tighten the nut holding the front A/C liquid line to the A/C condenser to 22 N.m (16 ft.lbs.), then install the splash shields at the front end, lower the car, install the air cleaner housing, attach the negative battery cable again, vacuum the refrigerant system and top up the refrigerant.
