How to Service the Air Bag in Sedan and Wagon on 2005 Dodge Magnum?

First, unhook and isolate the negative terminal of the battery in the car; wait two minutes, so the air bag system reserve capacitor can drain, to keep the curtain air bag from being unexpectedly deployed and possibly harming anyone. Remove the headliner from the vehicle and take out the connector (2) from the inflator (3). After that, remove the screws (1) holding the curtain air bag to the spring nuts in the roof side rail and disconnect the front tether (2) from the A-pillar by popping out the push pin. Eject the push pins and unfasten the bolt (2) on the side of the vehicle so the air bag will pop out easily. While installing, make sure the curtain air bag is placed on top of the side rail near the roof, fitted with push fasteners. Install bolt (2) for the inflator to the C/D-pillar, torquing it to 11 N.m (97 in.lbs.), then clip the front tether (2) to the A-pillar (1) and attach the push fastener. Connect the curtain air bag at the top with spring nuts to the roof side rail, tightening the nuts through the screws (1) to 5 N.m (44 in.lbs.) and reattach the squib to the inflator (3). After that, fit the headliner again, but ensure that the car's battery negative cable is not connected until you do the system test to prevent accidents.
