2005 Dodge Neon Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Oil Pan on 2005 Dodge Neon?
A: Take out the negative battery cable and lift the car up on a hoist before you started servicing the oil pan. Take the engine oil out and remove the oil filter and then pull out the adaptor from the engine's base. Following this, remove the bolt-held structural collar and the intake manifold support bracket, then take out the dust cover from the transaxle. After that, take out the bolts that secure the oil pan and pull off the pan. Be sure to clean the oil pan as well as all sealing areas before you apply a bead of Mopar Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant to the oil pump to engine block joint. Lay the new oil pan gasket on the oil pan, set it in place, then tighten the screws to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Fit the transaxle dust cover, the support bracket for the intake manifold and the structural collar. The oil filter adaptor and oil filter should be reinstalled and afterward, lower your vehicle to add the proper oil to the crankcase.
