  A: Before working on the engine coolant thermostat, lower the coolant down to the level of the thermostat by release valve. After that, unhook the coolant recovery/reserve system hose and the radiator upper hose. After that, remove the bolts connecting the thermostat/engine outlet connector and take out the thermostat and O-ring assembly. Before installation, wash the sealing places and fit the new thermostat into the thermostat housing, so that the vent lines up with the mark on the cylinder head. Place the thermostat housing/outlet connector onto the cylinder head and use a 12.5 Nm (110 inch lbs.) torque wrench on the bolts. When that's done, install the radiator upper hose and the one for the coolant recovery/reserve system and then fill the cooling system.
