2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Line Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Brake Line in a Rear Tube/Hose Assembly on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: In order to service the rear tube/hose assembly, you should first prop up the brake pedal with a prop rod, to keep the Master Cylinder sealed so the brake fluid remains in, so the brake system pressure is maintained. Now, lift the vehicle, then take out the brake line from the axle, the bolt holding the brake hose to the axle and the banjo bolt that secures the brake hose at the caliper. To begin installation, fit the new hose, secure the caliper's banjo bolt at 27 Nm (245 inch lbs.), attach the hose mounting bolt at the axle and lastly fit the brake line from the axle. Bring the body down, take out the support and remove the prop rod under the brake pedal. Make sure to bleed the brakes when you're finished; if you can't achieve good brake feel, perform a base bleed system.
