2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Booster on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: The first step in repairing the vacuum brake booster is to take out the master cylinder and cut the vacuum hose to the booster. After that, take off the clip attaching the booster push rod to the brake pedal and remove the nuts on the booster studs. Open the front cowl and take off the booster and its gasket. After that, slide the studs into the holes on the cowl panel and place the booster over them. Secure the booster attaching nuts with a torque of 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.), put the brake push rod into place on the brake pedal and clip it back in. If there was no check valve when you removed the booster, put one in and attach the vacuum hose to it. Following this, reinsert the master cylinder and finish by filling and bleed the brake system.
