2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Washer Reservoir on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: First, unlatch and open the hood and later disconnect the negative cable of the battery before handling the windshield washer reservoir. Release the overflow hose from the filler neck without shutting off the engine unit. Separate the reservoir washer hose from the fitting on the right headlamp and dash wire harness so you can let the washer fluid drain out and keep it to use later. Following that, remove the washer fluid level switch harness from the right headlamp and dash wire harness, as well as the washer pump/motor harness connector. First, remove the holding screws from the top of the radiator shroud next to the back reservoir brackets and then carefully pull the reservoir from its housing by the bottom of the reservoir assembly. Move the radiator reservoir up so the tabs' locks at the bottom of the radiator shroud release, then pull it out of the engine compartment. When installing, slide the washer reservoir into the side of the engine compartment and push the unit down until the locking function engages. Screw the brackets in place until each screw is tightened to 7 N.m (60 in.lbs.). After that, fasten the connectors for the washer pump/motor unit and the washer fluid level switch and then make the reservoir washer hose and coolant overflow hose connections. Put the old liquid back into the reservoir, link the negative battery wire, observe and add coolant when it's needed and securely close the hood.
