2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair Brake Calipers on Rear Disc Brakes on 2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: To work on calipers, first open the brake fluid reservoir cap, lift the vehicle and remove the wheels from the rear. Disconnect the wear indicator cable and wear indicator from the brake calipers, put plugs over both ends and the connection threads and inspect your brake hoses for cracks. After that, take out the brake hose at the brake caliper, then remove the guide bolt and the caliper itself. During installation, link the brake caliper to the brake caliper adapter and tighten the guide bolt to 25 Nm if it's an M8 bolt or 30 Nm if an M10 bolt. Check that the brake hose is untwisted and has free movement. Put the brake hose back onto the brake caliper, secure it with a bolt tightened to 14 Nm, then put on the wear indicator cable and wear indicator, tightening all to 10 Nm. Bleed the brakes, look for any fluid leaks, fasten the rear wheels and lower the car.
