2005 Dodge Stratus Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Oxygen Sensor in the Exhaust Manifold on 2005 Dodge Stratus?
A: An oxygen sensor that heats up is placed in the exhaust manifold of the engine. First, take out the negative battery cable and then remove the heated oxygen sensor connector, without pulling the sensor's wire. Use either a Snap-On YA8875 socket or a crow foot wrench to take out the oxygen sensor. The installation requires you to clean the exhaust manifold threads with an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap. Should you want to use the original sensor, smear an anti-seize compound or its equivalent, onto the sensor screw threads, since those from new sensors are already pre-coated. Adjust the sensor so it reaches 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.), reattach the heated oxygen sensor connector to its electrical plug and then reinstall the negative battery cable.
