How to Service a Rear Crossmember on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To service the cross member in the rear, remove the skid plate and prop up the transmission. Remove the four bolts from the transmission mount and eight from the crossmember. Install the crossmember again using the tight bolts (54 N.m) and then install the transmission mount bolts and skid plate.
