2006 Chrysler Crossfire Door Latch Assembly Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Door Latch Assembly on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: First, eliminate the door trim inside the room and the door lock cylinder to service and repair the front door latch assembly. Peel back the watershield just enough to find the door latch assembly installation opening and mark where the guide rail was previously installed on it, so you can reinstall it correctly. Take out the guide rail plug below the car and the bolts connecting the guide rail to the underbody and lift the rail out via the installation opening. First, disconnect the cable on the door's inside handle release from the door latch assembly, then disconnect the driver door latch assembly harness connector and lastly, disconnect the pneumatic supply line from the door latch assembly's lock actuator. Remove the assembly attachment screws from the door and remove the door latch assembly. With the latch assembly aligned, place it into the door through the hole and secure it with the screws. Make sure to tighten the screws to 8 N.m. Next, hook the pneumatic supply line on to the actuator, attach the inside handle release line and connect the driver door harness. Wheel away the glass to the previous mark on the track, install the glass adjustment, position the guide rail in the door and bolt it in place before adding the lower cover plug. If you see any damage to the door watershield, replace it and then install the suctioned door watershield, the lock cylinder and finally the interior door trim panel.
