2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Radiator Support Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Radiator Support on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Before you start service or repair of the radiator support, lift the hood to an opening position, detach the hood seal (9) from the radiator support (1) and remove the upper grille. If you need to, release the hood latch from the upper radiator support and, if the vehicle is so equipped, also remove the ambient temperature sensor from the bracket. After that, remove the bolt (6) connecting the support bracket to the upper radiator support and take out the six bolts (2) holding the upper radiator support to the fenders. It may be necessary to take off the hood bumpers (7) and upper radiator supporting brackets (8) from the upper radiator support. First, the upper radiator support (1) should be set at the vehicle's front and then the six bolts (2) are installed into the fenders, being carefully tightened. After that, attach the support bracket (5) to the upper radiator support with an installed bolt (6). If you have an ambient temperature sensor, place it on the support bracket and if you already have a hood latch, return it to the upper radiator support. After that, install the upper grille, then put in the hood adjustment bumpers (7) and upper radiator brackets (8) if they have been removed. Afterwards, set the rubber hood seal (9) on the flange of the upper radiator support and examine whether the gaps between the hood and body are even and measure 4 mm (0.160 in.).
