2006 Dodge Caravan Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2006 Dodge Caravan?
A: Before beginning any fuel rail service, ensure the fuel system pressure is released and remove the negative battery cable. Take the fuel injectors harness connectors off and pull the wiring harness from the mounting brackets. Take out the connectors from the fuel injectors and take the whole harness out of the vehicle. Detach the hose quick connect fitting from the tube under the chassis, put a shop towel under the end of the tubes and hoses to soak up gas when it's lost, then protect the hoses with a shop towel. After that, remove the fuel rail bolts and take out the fuel rail without harming the injector O-rings. Before installing, wipe the injector holes and exchange any broken O-rings. Before installation, apply a drop of clean engine oil to each of the injector's O-rings to help push them in. Then, place the tip of the injectors into their ports and push on the entire assembly until it is firmly seated into place on the engine head. Put in the fuel rail mounting bolts and tighten them to 22 N.m (200 in. lbs.). Fit the fuel injector connectors to the wiring, connect the wiring harness to the brackets and align the wiring connectors with the fuel injectors harness. At last, rejoin the negative battery cable and use the Drbiii(R) to test the fuel system for leaks by turning it on.
