2006 Dodge Charger Washer Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Washer Pump on 2006 Dodge Charger?
A: The first step to work on the headlamp washer pump is to disconnect and separate the battery negative cable. Take the hose from the windshield washer to a clean container by releasing it from the back of the front washer and temporarily using another hose. Then, open the access cover, release the washer reservoir and press down on the hose's latch to remove the pump headlamp washer hose. First, take out the high pressure headlamp washer pump motor electrical connector (1) and pull the pump up and away from the reservoir so you do not damage the reservoir or its sealing surface. Get rid of the pump grommet. For the installation, attach the new pump to the reservoir using a new grommet that is properly placed and set in position. Set the washer reservoir in place, attach the electric connectors to the washer pump motors and the sensor and press the high pressure headlamp washer hose onto the inlet until you hear a click. Fill up the reservoir with the currently drained water and reconnect the battery's negative cable.
