2006 Dodge Dakota Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Power Steering Pump on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: To start, drain the power steering pump and then siphon the fluid from within. After that, take the serpentine drive belt, remove the hose that leads to the reservoir (3) from the reservoir (1) and take the hose that leads from the pump (2). Remove the three mounting bolts for the pump using the holes behind the pulleys and then take the pump (4) out of the engine. To fit the pump (4), set it up with the engine's mounting holes and fit the three bolts through the pump's pulley holes, tightening them to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Tighten the pressure hose (2) connecting the pump (4) with 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.) and attach the reservoir return hose (3) to the reservoir (1). After that, put the serpentine drive belt back into place. After that, add fluid to the power steering pump.
