2006 Dodge Magnum ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an ABS Control Module in the Hydraulic Control Assembly on 2006 Dodge Magnum?
A: The first step to servicing and repairing the Hydraulic Control Assembly for Antilock Brakes is to take the negative battery cable off of the battery post. Clamp a brake pedal holding tool to the brake pedal and press it down past the first inch, then hold the space to cut off the brake master cylinder from the hydraulic system and keep the brake fluid in the reservoir while you open the brake lines. Disconnect the brake tubes where they are connected to the hydraulic control unit and afterwards, pull the wiring connector from the antilock brake module. Pull the unit out from where it's fastened to its mount by pulling up. Removing all the screws that connect the mounting bracket to the HCU and the ones fixing the ABM to the HCU will allow you to take the ABM off. Put the ABM so that the solenoids and wiring of the pump/motor are flush with the HCU valves and passages and slide the ABM over the HCU until it is fully connected. Use screws and tighten them to 2 Nm for the ABM and when the mounting bracket is in place, tighten its screws to 11 Nm before installing the ICU in the vehicle. When installing, insert the unit into the mounting grommets, fasten the brake hose coupler to the antilock brake module and connect the brake lines at the hydraulic control unit, holding the stainless steel brake hose nuts to 20 Nm. After finishing removing the brake pedal holding tool, reattach the battery's negative cable, refill and bleed the brake hydraulic system and Automatic Brake System and run a diagnostic test to clear out any errors.
