Set the Special Tool 8506 well into the rear oil seal, tighten it until it won't turn and perform the opposite motion firmly to remove the seal; if done incorrectly, the tool might not function properly. Avoid lubricating the lip or outer edge of the rear seal during installation. Install the guide for the plastic seal to the back of the crankshaft, then the guide for the oil seal. Place both special tools 8349 and C-4171 Driver Handle over the seal and gently drill it into the bore until the seal installer is touching the block's crankshaft. The last step is to replace the flexplate and the transmission.
