How to Service a Drive Belt on a 5.7L Engine on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500?

Before servicing the drive belt on a 5.7L engine, you should remove the air intake tube placed between the intake manifold and air filter assembly. Put a standard square drive ratchet into the square hole on the belt tensioner arm and turn it clockwise until the belt comes off both pulleys. After you unbuckle the belt,alsosoftly disconnect the tensioner. Position the accessory drive belt around all the pulleys except for the water pump pulley and be sure that all V-shaped ridges on the belt are touching the pulleys correctly. Turn the tensioner clockwise, slide the belt over the water pump pulley and then let the tensioner spring back slowly. Next, link the air intake tube again which goes between the intake manifold and air filter assembly.
