2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Speed Sensor for Optimal Performance on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: For transmission speed sensor maintenance, place the catch pan under the transmission and raise the car before you begin. Take the wiring connector away from output speed sensor 1, then remove the bolt that holds the sensor onto the transmission case and pull the sensor out. To install, reinsert the output speed sensor 1 into the transmission case, secure it with the bolt and tighten the bolt according to the guide, using 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.) (This may vary as recommended in the guide). Attach the wiring connector back to output speed sensor 1, review the transmission fluid level and add more if it's needed and then lower the vehicle.
