2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Brake Disc on LD Rotors on 2006 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Before changing the front brake in a LD model, raise the vehicle, remove the wheel and tire assembly and then take off the rotor/disc. After that, unscrew the bolts holding the caliper with the adaptor to the steering knuckle and get the caliper adapter assembly out, making sure the hose in the system is not holding the caliper adapter. Get rid of the rotor from where it's attached to the hub/bearing. Put the rotor onto the hub/bearing first, then put the caliper adapter assembly over the hub and tighten the bolts to 176 Nm (130 ft. lbs.). Reattach the wheel and tire set, lower the vehicle, press the brake pedal several times and move it once the brake pedal is firm.
