2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Parking Brake Cable on 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: You should raise and support your vehicle before servicing or repairing the front parking brake cable. Take off the front park brake cable from the pulley unit and next detach it from the hand brake lever. Take off the clips that secure the guides at the frame cross members for the front cable, then remove the locking clips at the floor opening to free the front brake cable. Stick the front brake lever to the handle, tug the front brake cable forward from the front of the car and take off the park brake cable with special tool 9289 from the vehicle. During installation, start by fixing the front park brake cable to the vehicle and attaching the cable guides to the cross members on your vehicle's frame. Front cables next need to be attached to the hand brake lever and then reattached to the pulley unit. After everything is set, lift the parking brake and back up slowly.
