2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Windshield Washer Pump on 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Service of the windshield washer pump should be done by first unplugging the wire harness from the motor connector, removing the hose from the pump and letting the collected fluid fall freely into a clean vessel. If your vehicle has a switch for the washer fluid level sensor, disconnect its hose from the washer pump/motor's top barbed vent nipple. Hold the washer pump firmly and draw it from under the rubber grommet on the reservoir, making sure the reservoir is not damaged and then remove and throw out the rubber grommet seal from the mounting hole of the washer pump. When installing, slip a new rubber grommet seal into the washer pump hole. Put the washer pump's inlet nipple into the rubber grommet seal and apply gentle and solid pressure until you have seated it. When facing a reconnectable washer, attach the fluid level switch vent hose to the washer pump's barbed vent nipple and attach the washer hose to the barbed outlet nipple on the pump. Next, join the exposed wire harness connector to its original location on the motor connector receptacle and refill the washer reservoir with the fluid you removed.
