  A: The first step to take out the camshaft is to cut the negative wire on the battery and remove the cover on the engine, keeping fuel messages in mind. Then, disconnect the high-pressure lines and injectors and afterwards, take out the cylinder head cover. Spin the engine at the crank only, so that piston #1 of cylinder one is at ignition TDC and secure the inlet camshaft into place. Get rid of the timing chain tensioner, pull on the front cover of the cylinder head after taking out the bolts from it and take the front cover off. Lift out the top side rail and link the camshaft gear to the timing chain to block crankshaft movement. Find out where the camshaft sprocket is in relation to the timing chain, unattach it from the exhaust camshaft and remember its dowel pin position. First, soften all the camshaft bearing caps' bolts, while making sure not to turn the camshafts as you do so. Replace the front and cylinder head covers, install the clean injectors, reattach the negative battery cable and run the engine while keeping an eye on leaks and warning messages for the fuel system. Finally, put on the engine cover.
