2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fog Light Bulb Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Fog Light Bulb on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: The first step is to disconnect the battery from the negative outlet before you begin service. Open the bottom of either firg light housing by reaching from behind and below the rear bumper assembly. Take hold of the socket from below the housing, give a quarter turn counterclockwise to release it and yank the bulb out through the top opening where it is keyed. Take out the base of the bulb from the socket. Making sure the correct bulb is used for installation is important to avoid the bulb overheating. You can reach the rear fog lamp sockets by looking for them under and at the back of the rear bumper cover. Place the bottom end of the bulb over the socket and press it straight in until it is in place. Put the socket and bulb over the keyed opening in the rear fog lamp housing, insert them and rotate the socket right 30 degrees to secure it. After that, reconnect the battery negative cable.
