2007 Chrysler Aspen Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service or Replace a Catalytic Converter on a 3.7L or 4.7L Engine on 2007 Chrysler Aspen?
A: As soon as you start to work with the exhaust system on either a 3.7L or 4.7L, make sure to remove the oxygen sensor connector(s) to prevent issues. First, lift and hold up the vehicle, then soak all the exhaust bolts and nuts with Mopar(R) Rust Penetrant and wait 5 minutes. After that, unplug the oxygen sensor's electrical connectors and then remove the bolts connecting the catalytic converter and manifold (5). Take off the clamp (1) that is holding the catalytic converter (3) in place on the exhaust pipe(s) (2). If a tack weld is there, remove it and then get rid of the clamp that holds the flange to the muffler or extension pipe. In the last step, take out the catalytic converter by working on other pipes in the exhaust system.
