How to Properly Install a Front Wiper Arm on 2007 Chrysler Aspen?

While the ignition is in On and the multi-function switch motion off, move the wiper motor to Off, so it is not running when you are installing the wiper arms for the first time. Before turning your ignition back to Off, make sure the wiper pivots are stopped. Index the front wiper arms on the pivot shafts when the motor is in park position. Make sure the arm or links that pivot on the shafts are on the upper end of the wiper arms, so that the wiper blade line-up with the alignment marks hidden in the windshield. To release the tension, try lifting the windshield-side of the wiper arm an inch or so above the windshield and then press down the arm or its shaft on the other side of the car. Attach the nuts indicated in your manual and secure them on the wiper arm or links to the pivot shaft or shafts to a torque of 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Wet your windshield, turn on the front wipers, set the wiper switch to Off and review that wiper arms are in the right place, fixing them if needed.
