How to Safely Detach a Muffler on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?

The first thing to do is lift the vehicle on a body contact hoist, removing all body pressure from the rear axle so that the muffler pipe has enough space. For the component you need to remove, put penetrating oil on both the flange nuts and the torca clamp nuts. Carefully move your vehicle so that the bellows of the flex-joint remain unharmed; if they bend or dent, it might cause the catalytic converter to break which would require a new one. Then, get rid of the resonator/muffler unit, slide the torca clamp so it's looser and take out the muffler from the vehicle after separating it from the catalytic converter.
