2007 Chrysler Sebring Control Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the Control Arm to Maintain Proper Suspension Geometry on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Set up the lower control arm and place bolt 6 and nut 4 where they go on the crossmember 5. Don't tighten the bolt at this stage. Following this, connect the lower control arm 3 to the knuckle 1 by installing bolt 7 and nut 2 and once again don't tighten them. After that, attach mounting bolt 1 and nut 4 to fasten shock assembly 2 to lower control arm 3, making sure they are not tight. Screw the trim cover 5 to the lower area of the lower control arm 3. Position the lower stud on the right side of the stabilizer bar link straight to the back of the car and place the stud on the left side straight to the front when linking it to the lower control arm. If a stabilizer bar link is provided, secure it to the lower control arm 4, fit the nut 2, press the stabilizer bar link lower stud steady and tighten the nut to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). Declick the tire and wheel assembly 1, then mount it on the studs, adding the wheel mounting nuts and tightening each to a torque of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Place the vehicle on an alignment rack or a drive-on lift and lift it again whenever you need to access the mounting bolts and nuts. First tighten the lower control arm mounting bolt nut at the crossmember to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.). Then press the bolt at the knuckle to ensure you hit 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.) and end by tightening the lower shock assembly bolt nut to 99 Nm (73 ft. lbs.). Remember to get your wheels aligned whenever it's needed.
