2007 Dodge Caliber Battery Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Position and Connect Battery Cables in the Engine Compartment on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: Guide the battery cables into place in the engine area and attach one pushpin, fastener or routing clip to each cable until they are back in their spots. Connect the battery cable to the B+ terminal of the starter motor and tighten the corresponding cable nut to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.) and do the same for the generator B+ terminal, tightening the other nut to 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.). Attach the nut that links the negative cable to the body ground stud and tighten it until you reach 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Keep in mind that that the negative and positive connections for the battery differ for diesel and gasoline vehicles, so make sure to find them first before servicing any parts. Fix the positive wire into place on the battery, then connect the negative wire and tighten its nuts with 5 Nm of torque. Attach the nut connecting the TIPM cable to its bracket on the battery clamp stud and install the air cleaner fresh air duct, fixing it by twisting the two retaining clips.
