2007 Dodge Caravan Timing Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Timing Cover on 2007 Dodge Caravan?
A: Before servicing the timing cover, loosen the mounting bolts that hold the cover on and then remove and set aside the cover. After that, take off the crankshaft vibration damper and the generator drive belt tensioner assembly for the lower front cover. After you're done, unbolt the timing belt front cover and take off the cover. Take out the rear covers and the engine mount bracket afterward. Next, remove the timing belt and the camshaft sprockets, with Special Tool 6847 keeping the camshaft sprocket held in place as you remove the center bolt. After that, remove the timing belt idler pulley and finally use the rear cover fasteners to remove the cover from the engine.
