2007 Dodge Caravan Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Wheel Bearing Without Removing the Steering Knuckle on 2007 Dodge Caravan?
A: Service or repair the wheel bearing by lifting the car, taking off the four lug nuts and removing the wheel and tire. After that, remove the cotter pin, nut lock and spring washer attached to the stub axle. Enlist someone to help apply the brakes and turn off the hub with a wrench, while you remove the hub nut. After that, separate the disc brake caliper and adapter as an assembly from the knuckle and use a bungee cord or wire to hold them in a spot where they do not hang by their brake hoses. Later, pull out the brake rotor from the hub and bearing. Gently push in at the end of the driveshaft stub shaft which will force its splines away from the hub splines. Remove the bolts from the ends of each steering knuckle hub and bearing, taking care not to harm the ABS tone wheel on the driveshaft stub shaft. After that, extract the hub and bearing assembly from the steering knuckle.
