2007 Dodge Durango Alternator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair an Alternator on 2007 Dodge Durango?
A: Disconnect the negative battery cable as the first precaution before working on the alternator. Before removing the wires, release the generator drive belt, remove the cap from the B+ terminal and remove the nut that holds the B+ terminal mounting wire on the rear of the generator. After that, press on the tab at the rear of the generator to release the field wire connector. Remove one rear vertical bolt that holds the generator as well as two front horizontal bolts and then remove the generator from the vehicle if you have a 3.7L or 4.7L engine. For the 5.7L engine, once you've finished the first section, remove the nuts and bolt from the generator support bracket, pull out the bracket, unbolt the generator and finally take the generator out of the engine bay.
