How to Remove and Replace a Crankshaft Seal on 2007 Dodge Durango?

If performing this work in a vehicle, the first steps are to remove the transmission and afterwards the flexplate. After the crankshaft oil seal is removed, it cannot be used again. Before starting, put the crankshaft rear oil seal remover Special Tool 8506 into the seal and tighten it deeply until the tool can't be turned. A tool not put on properly could remove the plug seal but leave the engine seal unaffected. At the end, use Special Tool 8506 to take out the oil seal at the rear of the crankshaft.
