When swapping the hinges, use a good sealant on the parts that touch the vehicle body. If you want, paint the new hinge before putting it in place. After that, attach and tighten the hinge with the body bolts to a torque of 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). After that, place in the liftgate bolts and secure them till they are tightened to the recommended force of 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Adjust the liftgate when needed and lastly, attach and fit the upper rear headliner trim.
