2007 Dodge Durango Water Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Water Pump on a 3.7/4.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Durango?
A: When doing the water pump replacement on a 3.7/4.7L, first make sure to remove and clean between the gasket surfaces. After that, put a new gasket on the water pump and secure it to the mounting bolts, each bolt should be tightened to 58 Nm (43 ft. lbs.) torque. Check that the impeller does not rub on the timing chain case or cover when the water pump spins. After that, join the upper radiator hose to the water pump and place the accessory drive belt in its spot. Fix the fan shroud and fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly in place using two fan shroud-to-radiator screws. Check that the fan blades and the fan shroud are at least 25 mm (1.0 inches) apart. Installing the fan/belt assembly onto the pump shaft, filling the cooling system and connecting the battery cable are your next steps. At the end, turn on the engine and look for any leaks.
