  A: First, break away the bulged metal from the side of the outlet connector where it was formed by the staking procedure for the old thermostat, to allow the new one to sit properly. You don't have to insert the replacement thermostat into the connector. Then, make sure to line up the two air bleed notches in the connector with the thermostat when seat it in the connector. Place a brand new gasket above both sides of the thermostat and connection, so that the thermostat is level and fits the recess. Put the thermostat and connector assembly onto the intake manifold and secure them with 28 Nm (250 in. lbs. of tightness). The next step is to join the radiator upper hose to the outlet on the cooling system and ensure the system is back to the right level.
