  A: Removal of the bulged metal from the wall of the outlet connector recess that was pushed into it (due to the staking procedure that held the OEM thermostat in place), is essential in order to place the replacement thermostat on this area, without the need for restaking. Then place the thermostat to the coolant outlet connector by aligning the two locating notches on the thermostat with the connector to make sure the thermostat air bleed is in correct position. Position the thermostat on the provided recess and make sure that the thermostat is positioned correctly; place a new gasket on the thermostat and the connector. Tighten the bolts that attach the thermostat and connector assembly to the intake manifold to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) and install to the intake manifold. Finally refit the radiator upper hose to the coolant outlet connector and top up the cooling system.
