To replace the upper intake manifold, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the throttle body air inlet hose and air cleaner housing, and disconnect various electrical connectors and hoses. Then, remove the manifold support brackets, upper EGR tube, attaching bolts, and the upper manifold. Inspect the foam insulator afterward.
