How to Properly Install a Front Crankshaft Seal on 2007 Dodge Nitro?

Before installing the seal, make sure the damper bore and the crankshaft nose are spotlessly clean so you avoid major crankshaft, damper or Special Tool 8512 damage when tightening the seal. Following that, fit Special Tool 8348 and 8512 to install the crankshaft front seal, then install the vibration damper. When you're done, connect the radiator cooling fan and shroud, then fit the upper radiator hose. After that, set the A/C compressor in place, holding the bolts to the recommended torque of 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) and secure the accessory drive belt. Once you are done, fill the coolant system and reattach the other car battery cable.
