How to Maintain and Repair a Drive Shaft on 2007 Dodge Nitro?

When doing a drive or propeller shaft service or repair, first place the car on a hoist and make sure it is in neutral. Draw a straight line across the axle flange and propeller shaft flange to ensure the proper position of the idler. Moreover, put a reference line between the transmission/transfer case and propeller shaft flanges. After that, remove each of the bolts attaching the transmission or transfer case flange to the propeller shaft and then repeat for the axle flange. Take the propeller shaft out after the rest of the engine is installed.
