  A: Before installing the trunk/liftgate hinge, first spread body sealer on the hinge to body mating surface and match the hinges with the installation reference marks you made before. Get rid of the block and secure hinge 1 under the vehicle's lift gate. Put bolts 4 into sockets at the distance from hinge 1 marked on the body and tighten them firmly to the torque shown on the torque wrench. Then, set nuts 3 through hinge 1 into the body and tighten them to be 28.5 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). At the lift gate location, set bolts 2 into hinge 1 and tighten them to 28.5 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Adjust anything that is needed. Fit headliner molding 3 along the body by sliding tab 1 from the right side into the quarter trim molding. Press against the middle of headliner molding 3 until you can slip tab 2 into the quarter molding through the other side. In the end, with your hands, snap 4 more clips into position and close the lift gate.
