2007 Dodge Ram 1500 EGR Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an EGR Valve on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Before attaching the EGR valve, first wipe down the surface in the rear of the left cylinder head where it is joined with the base of the EGR valve. After that, wipe off the EGR tube where it connects to the EGR valve. Fit a new gasket between the EGR valve and the cylinder head, then press the EGR valve onto the head and secure it in place with two bolts fastened to 9 Nm (80 in.lbs.). When that's done, slide a new gasket under the cover of the EGR tube and over the EGR valve assembly. Install the EGR tube near to, but not on, the EGR valve so that the tube end fits the intake manifold and secure it with two bolts that have been torqued to 11 Nm (8.5 ft lbs.). After that, connect the electrical connector to the EGR valve solenoid at the top end.
