2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Brake Light Switch on 2007 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: If fixing the brake light switch, first cut the connection of the SRS's negative battery cable to prevent accidental air bag discharge and then wait for two minutes for the system capacitor to empty. After that, find the brake lamp switch attached to the lower steering column next to the support bracket. Unplug the connector on the brake lamp switch and change the switch housing direction slightly so the tabs on the locking collar fit the keyed hole in the bracket. Press the switch straight in from the keyed hole to remove it from the bracket. Since the brake lamp switch self-adjusting switch plunger is non-reusable, if it's taken out of its mounting bracket, it can only be installed with a new switch. Get rid of the brake lamp switch you took out.
