Begin assembly of the universal joint by fitting the joint into its flange with one bearing cap. Set receiver 1 on the flange and bearing cap 2, then press the bearing cap until the groove of the snap ring becomes visible through the flange. After that, place snap ring 2 onto bearing 1. Align press 3 with receiver 2 on bearing cap 1 and flange, then push bearing cap 1 to see the snap ring groove through the flange and install snap ring 1 on bearing cap 2. First, place flange 1 onto yoke 2 with the U-joint inside, then set press 2 to the left from that point, with receiver 1 and bearing cap 3 on the yoke. Depress the bearing cover until the groove in the yoke is exposed, then fit snap ring 2 on the bearing cap. First, fit bearing cap 2 onto receiver 3 and against bearing cap 1, hold the yoke and move bearing cap 2 up until its snap ring groove is visible. Then, put the snap ring on bearing cap 1.
