You should start by step on and hold the brake pedal. After matching the tabs on the brake lamp switch locking collar with the keyed hole in the switch mounting bracket on the lower steering column, insert the tabs through the keyed hole until the switch sits snugly against the bracket. Rotate the housing toward you about 30 degrees to connect the tabs to the mounting bracket. Do not press or pull on the brake pedal before making the last switch plunger adjustment. Push the brake pedal out and then rotate the plunger adjustment release lever in a clockwise direction until the lever is locking onto a spot parallel to the brake lamp switch connector receptacle.
