2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Drive Shaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Detach the Drive Shaft on 2007 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Make sure the car is in neutral and on a hoist before you remove the shaft. Write "I" on the propeller shaft pinion flange and "O" on the propeller shaft flange. Should the vehicle have a manual transmission, also mark the flanges of the manual transmission and propeller shaft to help you. If your vehicle uses a center bearing, locate it in the middle of the center bearing bracket first, then support the propeller shaft and break the center bearing bolts loose for removal. After that, take out each of the bolts holding the pinion flange to the propeller shaft. Slide the propeller shaft rearward off the automatic transmission/transfer case output shaft and mark both parts for easier installation later. When the vehicle has manual transmission, you must remove the flange bolts. Remove the propeller shaft from the vehicle last, following steps to prevent driveline vibration.
