- Q: How Can Air Bag Safety Be Ensured During Servicing on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500?A: Wait two minutes after disconnecting and isolating the vehicle's negative battery cable to ensure the capacitor has discharged if you are servicing any vehicle with air bags. Anything from outside should be kept away from the driver air bag or made sure not to get wedged between the cushion and trim cover, since this might harm an occupant during deployment. Original air bag trim covers are not painted because the replacements are the same and adding paint could impact the air bag's operation in an accident. Position the new driver's air bag beside the steering wheel, so the electrical wiring at the rear can be plugged into it. Connect the Clock Spring driver air bag pigtail wire harness onto the air bag inflator connector receptacle found at the back of the driver air bag housing, making certain the latch and the orange lock are fully secure. After that, attach the Clock Spring horn and steering wheel switch pigtail wire harness connector to the receptacle found on the back of the driver air bag housing.
