2007 Jeep Commander Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Oil Pan on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: You must start by cleaning the oil pan gasket mating surface on the bedplate and on the oil pan and inspect the oil pan gasket. If it is damaged, replace it before completing the procedure. Fit the gasket/tray to the oil pan and attach the oil pickup tube afterward. Should you remove it, then place a stud at No. 9. After that, thread the mounting bolt and secure the nuts by hand at 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Install the oil pan and tighten its mounting bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) according to the recommended order. After putting in the structural dust cover, lower the engine into its mounts with Special Tool 8534. After you take out Special Tool 8534, put in the left and right side engine mount through bolts and tighten the nuts to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.). Mount the intake manifold, pour the engine oil into it, link the negative battery cable back and start the motor to spot any leaks.
